A strategic two-day training workshop titled “Strengthening Vaccine Confidence in Ghana” commenced this morning at the headquarters of the National Vaccine Institute (NVI) in Accra.
The workshop has convened a diverse group of media practitioners and health journalists from across the country. The initiative is designed to deepen their technical understanding of vaccine communication and advocacy, recognizing the media's pivotal role in disseminating accurate health information and building sustainable public trust in vaccines.
A Collaborative Effort The training is spearheaded by the National Vaccine Institute (NVI) in close collaboration with the African Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN).
The program also received critical support from key national and international stakeholders, including:
-
The Ghana Health Service (GHS)
-
The World Health Organization (WHO) Ghana
-
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) Ghana
By equipping journalists with the right tools to combat misinformation and explain complex science, the NVI aims to create a more resilient information ecosystem that supports the country's broader public health goals.
